Can't drift in Mario Kart 8 using gamecube controller

I am trying to play Mario kart 8 with a gamecube controller. I'm using CEMU 1.9.0c and vjoy gcn driver with wii u usb gcn adapter. I haven't had this problem until I upgraded to 1.9.0c today, but whenever I try to drift, my character just jumps up into the air and doesn't drift. Also, in the controller settings, when I set the R trigger to ZR and then the L trigger to ZL, it automatically inputs button 5 (I'm pretty sure button 5 doesn't exist) to the + button and Zaxis+ to the - button...
